Camille Farhat

Group President — AMS

Camille Farhat joined Endo in September 2012 as President of AMS, a world leader in developing and delivering medical devices and procedures to treat patients with pelvic health conditions. Mr. Farhat brings broad global experience from assignments in 10 countries and nine industries over 22 years. He is a business executive with a track record of revitalizing, turning around, and profitably growing businesses. Before joining Endo, Mr. Farhat held the position of General Manager of Baxter Pharmaceuticals & Technologies (BPT). Camille joined Baxter in February 2006 as General Manager of Global Infusion Systems. Prior to Baxter, Mr. Farhat was with Medtronic where he held the position of Vice President of Business Development after he was Global General Manager of Medtronic’s Gastroenterology and Urology division. He spent 13 years with General Electric (GE) where he gained broad executive experience with assignments in many businesses, geographies, and functional areas, leading up to his final role with the company as General Manager for the Computed Tomography (CT) business.

He holds a Master of Business Administration from Harvard University, a degree in European Union Studies from Institut National d’Etudes Politiques de Paris, and a Bachelor of Sciences (summa cum laude) in International Finance and Accounting from Northeastern University.

Max Fiore

Maximillian D. Fiore

Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer

Maximillian D. Fiore was named our Sr. Vice President and Chief Technology Officer in August of 2009. Mr. Fiore has over 25 years experience in Engineering, R&D, Quality, International and Manufacturing. Most recently, he was Sr. Vice President of Research, Development and Operations at OmniSonics Medical Technologies in Wilmington, Massachusetts. OmniSonics is a venture-backed medical device company focused on developing breakthrough products for the treatment of vascular occlusive disease. Prior to OmniSonics he was Vice-President of R&D for Smith & Nephew Endoscopy division in Andover MA. From 1994 until 2003 he was Vice President of Engineering at Aradigm Corporation in California. Prior to that, Mr. Fiore was the Director of Engineering at Johnson & Johnson - Lifescan from 1990 to 1994. Prior to that Mr. Fiore held Managerial positions at Abbott Laboratories from 1982 until 1991. Mr. Fiore holds undergraduate degrees in Electrical Engineering and Bio-Medical Engineering from Northwestern University and a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Ginger Glaser

Ginger Glaser

Vice President of Quality & Regulatory

Ginger Glaser has served as our Vice President of Quality and Regulatory since January 2012. Ms. Glaser has been with AMS since 1997, holding a variety of leadership roles. Ms. Glaser has over 19 years of Quality, Regulatory and related experience including roles in US and global regulatory affairs, quality systems and compliance, clinical affairs, and product development. She was previously with Minntech Corporation for 3 years and the USAF School of Aerospace Medicine for 1.5 years. Ms. Glaser holds an M.S. and B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Texas A&M University, and conducted additional post-graduate studies in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Minnesota. Ms. Glaser also maintains regulatory affairs certification (RAC) from the Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society.

Christine R. Kowalski

Christine R. Kowalski

Sr. Vice President, Global Operations & Supply Chain

Christine R. Kowalski has served as Senior Vice President of Global Operations and Supply Chain since December 2011. Ms. Kowalski comes to AMS with an extensive range of medical device and business experience. Previously, she served as Senior Vice President, Global Operations and Supply Chain at ev3 (Covidien). Prior to that Ms. Kowalski spent 18 years at Boston Scientific/Guidant where she held various senior leadership positions, including Group Vice President of Operations for BSC Vascular Access, Vice President of Global Operations for Guidant Vascular Intervention, General Manager of Guidant Puerto Rico and Vice President of Global Control and Reengineering for Guidant. In addition, she held various leadership roles in manufacturing, finance, quality and public accounting.

Ms. Kowalski holds an M.S. in Management with concentrations in Operations and Strategic Management from Purdue University and a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of North Dakota. Christine is also a Certified Public Accountant (inactive).

Joe Martin

Sr. Vice President and General Manager, BPH Therapy

Joe W. Martin has served as Sr. Vice President and General Manager since April 1, 2009. Mr. Martin brings over 25 years of leadership experience in medical products, including capital equipment and surgical products. Most recently, Martin served as the CEO of Milestone Scientific, a leading provider of medical and dental solutions. Prior to Milestone Scientific Martin spent 13 years at Bayer Healthcare in a variety of leadership positions, including president of the diabetes care division. Before joining Bayer Healthcare, he held leadership positions of increasing responsibility in sales and marketing, including international roles, during his 12 years in the diagnostics division of Abbott Laboratories.

John Nealon

John F. Nealon

Senior Vice President, General Manager Women's Health

John F. Nealon has served as Senior Vice President and General Manager, Women's Health since April 2008. Prior to his appointment as General Manager, Mr. Nealon served as Senior Vice President of Business Development from April 2005 to July 2008. From January 2002 to April 2005, he served as Vice-President of Global Marketing at AMS. Mr. Nealon has over 15 years of experience in the medical device industry. From 1996 to 2001, he served on the management team at Survivalink, a start-up medical device company which developed and marketed automated external defibrillators (AEDs). His final three years at Survivalink, he served as Vice-President, Marketing and International Sales. In 1996, he served as Director of Product Marketing for Summit Medical. From 1989 to 1996, he served in a variety of global product marketing roles at GE Medical Systems in the x-ray, surgery and cardiology businesses.

Derrill Palidwar

Derrill Palidwar

Senior Vice President, General Manager Europe/Middle East/Africa Region

Derrill Palidwar was named Senior Vice President and General Manager for the EMEA region in March 2011. Mr Palidwar has over 25 years of global experience in Medical Devices and Pharmaceuticals. Most recently, Mr. Palidwar served as Senior Vice President, Regional Business Unit Europe with Merz Pharmaceuticals GmbH based in Frankfurt, Germany. Prior to this, Mr. Palidwar worked as Vice President of Marketing for Allergan EMEA working from their UK Headquarters. In addition, Mr. Palidwar held a variety of global and national leadership roles during almost 20 years with Bayer Healthcare working in Germany, Australia, USA and his native Canada. Mr. Palidwar has led global launches of numerous pharmaceutical and medical device brands and had leadership roles in 5 large acquisitions and mergers.

Mike Ryan

Michael E. Ryan

Vice President, General Manager Asia Pacific/Latin America Region

Michael E. Ryan has served as our Vice President and General Manager, Asia Pacific/Latin America Region, since January 2009. Mr. Ryan has more than 22 years of Sales and Marketing experience within the U.S. and International AMS sales organization. Previously, Mr. Ryan served as our Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Intercontinental from May 2007 to January 2009, and he was Area Sales Director, responsible for the Eastern United States, from November 2005 to May 2007. He has opened and expanded AMS direct affiliate offices around the globe and developed the extensive international distributor sales team in Europe, Latin America and Asia Pacific.

Rick Staples

Richard D. Staples

Vice President, US Sales

Richard D. (Rick) Staples was named Vice President US Sales in November 2010. Rick has over 35 years of successful medical device sales, marketing, and sales leadership experience in his career, recently celebrating his 26 year anniversary with American Medical Systems (AMS). While with AMS, Rick has won awards for Top Sales Person of the Year, as well as Regional and Area Sales Director of the Year.

Prior to his appointment as Vice President, Mr. Staples held a number of leadership positions during his career with AMS. He has previously served as National Sales Manager and most recently as Senior Director, US Sales.

Susan Thompson

Vice President, Legal

Susan Thompson was named as our Vice President, Legal, in March 2012. Ms. Thompson has practiced law for over 18 years, with over 9 years in the medical device industry. Most recently, she served as Managing Counsel of the Cardiac, Rhythm and Vascular division at Boston Scientific. Prior to that, Ms. Thompson practiced law in the Commercial and Employment Litigation departments at the Minneapolis law firm, Leonard, Street and Deinard. She received her undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Iowa.

Julie Beth Vipperman

Vice President of Human Resources

Julie Beth Vipperman has served as our Vice President of Human Resources since January 2012. Mrs. Vipperman comes to AMS with over 20 years of experience in Human Resources and Marketing/Consumer Research. She has worked in the petrochemical industry, retail industry, and as a university professor in a variety of leadership positions. Mrs. Vipperman holds an undergraduate degree in Organizational Communication from Miami University (Oxford), a Master’s degree in Labor and Industrial Relations from the University of Illinois (Urbana-Champaign), and a Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior and Human Resources from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business. She also is active on the board of directors for the Hennepin Theatre Trust.
