AMS is proud to be affiliated with the Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed), the largest medical technology trade association in the world. AdvaMed's member companies produce the medical devices, diagnostic products and health information systems that are transforming health care through earlier disease detection, less invasive procedures and more effective treatments.

To help continually ensure a high standard of ethical conduct by the medical technology industry, AMS has agreed to be bound by the organization's voluntary Code of Ethics on Interactions with Health Care Professionals.

This document outlines the organization's expectations for ethical interactions with health care professionals in such contexts as:

• Member-sponsored product training and education
• Supporting third party educational conferences
• Sales and promotional meetings
• Arrangements with consultants
• Gifts
• Provision of reimbursement and other economic information
• Grants and others charitable donations.

Interactions With Health Care Professional

Medical technology firms develop ongoing relationships with the health care professionals who partner with us to design, develop and utilize cutting-edge, complex medical technology. Health care professionals are not only our customers, but also advisors designing medical technology; researchers providing FDA-required clinical safety data; students receiving training on complex technology; and teachers of those who use the medical technology.

AdvaMed's Code of Ethics recognizes the importance of these relationships and provides a roadmap for ethical business practices and socially responsible industry conduct when medical technology companies and health care professionals partner to advance medical care.

Commitment to the Code

AdvaMed members have an independent obligation to ascertain that their interactions with health care professionals comply with all current laws and regulations. AMS communicates the AdvaMed principles to employees and distributors with the clear expectation that they will adhere to this Code.
