- Interrupted urine flow, resulting in urine flow that starts, stops, and starts again.

- Inaudible sound in a very high frequency range creating a readable image.

- The membranous canal conveying urine from the bladder to the exterior of the body.
- Urethral catheter
- A tube inserted through the urine canal and into the bladder to allow urine to flow out of the body.
- Urethral stricture
- A narrowing of the urethra that limits the flow of urine.
- Urethroplasty
- A procedure to cut out the strictured area of the urethra and either replace it with a graft or connect the two ends of the urethra where the stricture was removed.

- An instrument used to view the inside of the urine canal.
- Urethroscopy
- A procedure to look inside the urine canal using a urethroscope.
- Urethrotomy
- A procedure to enlarge the diameter of the urethra by making a series of small cuts through the strictured area.

- Type of urinary incontinence that occurs suddenly and usually short in duration.
- Urgency
- A strong desire to urinate immediately.
- Urinalysis
- Test that examines the urine for signs of infection, blood or other abnormalities.

- A formal review of utilization for appropriateness of health care services delivered to a member on a prospective, concurrent or retrospective basis.
