Device Mechanics The DURA II has an articulating "gooseneck" design of linked segments. The segments contain a core of reinforced cable attached to distal and proximal spring systems. The spring systems apply enough tension to maintain either flexed or straight positioning.
The DURA II consists of a body and the tip components. The length of the DURA II body is 13 cm. It is available in a 10 mm or 12 mm diameter. Tips are added to the 13-cm body to form a prosthesis that is 15-27 cm long. The distal and proximal tips are available in lengths of 1-9 cm and are not stackable. The combined length of the tips cannot exceed 14 cm. The proximal tip is tapered to ease insertion. The distal tip is blunt to provide desired aesthetic results. |
